The
birth of Champagne Arabians began
with a coast to coast search for a national Western Pleasure
contender of extraordinary qualities.
Cody Ralston of Ralston Training Center in Oklahoma and I wanted
an individual who posessed every characteristic desired in a
champion.
Since Cody had apprenticed under Bobby Hart Jr. and John O'Hara
he acquired the knowledge of what to look for in such a horse
since he had been exposed to and ridden many champions at these
facilities.
We wanted to find a horse whose successes in the showring had
not come from using tricks, but instead was the result of slow
and solid training and a deliberate and well planned breeding
program, hence Rohara Farms in Florida.
We found an extraordinary horse named Rohara
Tattinger, (owned by Lotus Arabians in FL) a 1998 son
of Padrons Psyche and Bey Shah out of a Gamaar daughter.
He embodied all the qualities we demanded of a champion. He
was quiet and mellow, he had a laid-back shoulder, hooky neck,
a short back, low in the hocks, very correct, a nice long hip
and was a thoroughly fluid and floating mover.
And to complete this picture he had exquisite Arabian type and
beauty. Although Tattinger wasn't really for sale I was successful
in his acquisition, and because of his name being a champagne
the birth of Champagne Arabians
came to life.
So please come and join our excitement and enthusiasm as we
look forward to Rohara Tattinger
making his debut later this year and into 2003 as a Junior Horse
Western Pleasure National Contender.
